Why Springfree Leads the Pack

Looking into purchasing a backyard trampoline, but don't know where to start?
A trampoline is an investment for your family and your backyard. When you decide to make that investment, you want to know that it will last.
If you’re planning to purchase a new trampoline, here are the key things to look out for to ensure that you’re getting the best quality product.
Materials
The choice of materials used on a trampoline is really important. You want to know that the product can withstand years of jumping. You don’t want the trampoline components to bend or rip and tear, compromising the use and safety of the trampoline.
In the United States, we experience many different types of severe weather spanning strong UV rays right through to heavy snow. The best trampolines ensure every component is treated to stand the test of time.
Warranty
The level of warranty a company provides will provide a guideline as to the quality of each component of the trampoline. Be aware as most companies provide different warranty lengths for different parts of the trampoline so make sure you are clear what is covered and for how long.
The Trampoline Components
Each component is important to the design and the longevity of a trampoline. It’s important to understand if the components are manufactured to last a child’s jumping lifetime. The best companies design and back their products to make sure you can jump from kindergartner to teen hood! Below is an overview of components you should be researching for excellence.
What is the Springfree Difference?
The Frame
Look for a frame that is solid and well-constructed, but well out of harm’s way. The best frames are made of tubular steel, fully galvanised inside and out, have a zinc-phosphate pre-treatment, an epoxy primer and gets two coats of a high-performance polyester powder coated finish. Then there is a wax coating added on the inside where the powder coating can’t get to. It also has three layers of rust protection.
Traditional trampolines require safety pads to protect the jumper from falling on the steel frame, falling through or getting caught in the springs. However, independent safety tests show that these pads do not absorb enough impact to sufficiently protect jumpers from contact with the springs and frame. Springfree Trampoline’s superior design has completely removed the springs and steel frame at jumping level, so there is no need for safety pads.
This frame is built to last.
WARRANTY: The Springfree Trampoline frame is covered by a 10 year warranty. This is comparable to other trampoline manufacturers.
The Mat
The Springfree mat is made from the same material as all trampolines. However, our mats go through a rigorous process of calendaring (a finishing process used to smooth and coat textiles). The mat passes a 5,000-hour UV test which is the most rigorous UV test done on materials in the industry.
But you’ll find it is the stitching that usually fails on a mat as it doesn’t have the same UV treatment that a mat does. So Springfree actually covers the stitching with webbing to provide protection from UV light and also from abrasion from people jumping on it.
WARRANTY: The Springfree Trampoline mat is covered by a 10-year warranty. Other trampoline manufacturers will only provide up to 5 years warranty on their trampoline mats.
The Safety Net
Our net is made from a soft-touch knit that is resistant to tearing and doesn’t fray or run. It has a small weave so little fingers can’t get in – which is both a safety feature and assists to keep the integrity of the net. And naturally, it comes with full UV resistance.
WARRANTY: The Springfree Trampoline net and net poles are covered by a 10-year warranty. Other trampoline manufacturers will only provide 1- 3 years warranty on their safety nets.
The Rods
Our rods are what make the Springfree so unique as they take the place of normal springs. They’re made of a high-quality composite material, but as this composite material doesn’t normally need to be bent as frequently as a Springfree rod, we’ve had to develop a special recipe so our rods will last the distance.
WARRANTY: The Springfree Trampoline rods are covered by a 10-year warranty. Other trampoline manufacturers will only provide 1-5 years warranty on their springs.
A Culture of Quality
Since 2003, providing a safe, high quality product has been our number one priority. We are so obsessed with safety and quality that we built our own plant to ensure we could oversee the quality control process from beginning to backyard. As Dr. Keith Alexander, Mechanical Engineer and Creator of Springfree says...
If you don’t have good quality ingredients in your recipe then you’re not going to get a good quality product out the other end. You really have to build a culture that quality is more important than getting finished product out the door fast.
All the engineering and design that has been put into the development of Springfree means that you can leave it outside and enjoy jumping on it all year long, from the harshest summers to the coldest winters. Your trampoline will grow with your family, providing safe, active play for years to come.
