Round and rectangular trampolines have certain differences that could make one shape a better fit for your family than the other.
Round-shaped trampolines naturally draw jumpers to the center of the mat, making them a good fit for younger children who want a trampoline for fun.
Rectangular trampolines offer a longer runway for doing tricks and flips. If you’re a family that wants to practice gymnastics or athletics, it’s best to look toward shapes like rectangle, oval or square trampolines rather than round (although the Springfree Jumbo Round Trampoline is more than big enough to satisfy advanced jumping goals).
Square trampolines differ quite a bit from round trampolines in terms of the jumping experience.
In addition to maximizing corner-to-corner jump space, square trampolines have five “sweet spots” – areas of the trampoline where you can achieve a high bounce – while round trampolines have one.
This doesn’t mean round trampolines aren’t bouncy or can’t meet the jumping goals of advanced jumpers.
It simply means that families who want to perform dynamic movements or allow multiple jumpers at a time (we recommend just one jumper at a time) may be a better fit for a square model unless you opt for the 13 ft Springfree Jumbo Round Trampoline.
Oval and round trampolines are similar in that they can accommodate both beginner and advanced jumping goals.
However, oval trampolines have more of a runway to do flips and acrobatic movements.
If your kids want a trampoline for gymnastics practice, cheerleading or athletics, our Large Oval or Jumbo Oval models would likely be better options than our round trampolines.
Backyard round trampolines come in all sorts of sizes – from 6 ft in diameter up to 17 ft.
At Springfree, we sell four round trampoline sizes:
Trust us when we say it’s better to buy bigger first if you want a trampoline long-term.
We’ve seen many families purchase a smaller size only to have to go back and purchase a bigger size later.
When buying a Springfree, think about how big your kids will be in 10 years.
That’s how long you can expect a Springfree to last assuming reasonable use.
Our Jumbo Round Trampoline is the biggest round-shaped trampoline in our catalog (13 ft) and provides 132 square feet of jumping space.
Why is it special, though?
The Jumbo Round Trampoline has Costco’s special value pricing. This makes it less expensive than what our Medium Round Trampoline (10 ft) is priced at on our website ($1,549) despite being 3 ft bigger.
Not only do you get the special value pricing, but the Springfree Jumbo Round Trampoline at Costco is a bundle. You get a basketball hoop, ladder and professional installation – all included at the lowest price you can find.
If you’re looking for the best deal on a large Springfree Trampoline, you won’t find a better one anywhere else.
