For a Dallas-based mom, the road to beating breast cancer was a trying time for her and her family. Now, she’s cancer-free and jumping for joy on a limited-edition pink Springfree Trampoline!
Over 264,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. For many women, this news is heavy, stressful and lonely. It can feel like the weight of the world is on their shoulders as they navigate how they will continue to care for their children, families or even, simply care for themselves in the days ahead.
These are feelings and emotions that hit home with many individuals from our Springfree Trampoline family. With past and current employees who have been directly affected by the diagnosis of breast cancer, or those who have cared for a loved one during their journey, our team is proud to support breast cancer fighters and survivors in our communities.
For the second year, our team has partnered with Susan G. Komen to support breast cancer research. This year, our team wanted to make a difference in an individual survivor’s life, too. We partnered with the Dallas chapter of Susan G. Komen, which introduced us to Ashley Watford, an amazing and inspiring breast cancer warrior.
Ashley is a local teacher and STEM coordinator for the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD and resides near our HQ in Dallas, Texas. On her birthday in August 2016 (6 months after giving birth to her son), Ashley discovered a lump in her left breast and was diagnosed with breast cancer. In addition to several rounds of chemotherapy, Ashley ultimately made the decision to have a dual mastectomy based on her diagnosis and fairly high potential for recurrence. In 2017, Ashley rang the bell, cancer free!
Ashley’s story touched the hearts of our team, especially fellow survivor and Vice President of Marketing, France Jacot. Thus, on October 20, our team had the joy of surprising Ashley and her son, Zeke with a limited-edition pink trampoline. The hope is that this trampoline will be a source of joy, fun and memory-making that will provide respite from the tough journey the family has faced.
The moments the Springfree team shared with Ashley and her family as they jumped on their new trampoline were filled with genuine joy and excitement. Part of Springfree Trampoline’s mission is to continue sharing special moments that become memories with the Springfree family all over the globe. Springfree Trampoline is proud to continue supporting breast cancer research and look forward to intentionally sharing more survivor stories in the years to come.
