11 Fun Fall Activities For The Whole Family

The sun is bright, the air is crisp and there’s pumpkin spice everywhere! That can only mean the fall season is in full swing and it’s time for your family to take advantage of the autumn colors, mild weather and festive seasonal fun! To get you started, we’ve come up with a list of our favorite fall activities for families. Let’s get started!

Go on a nature walk to collect leaves! Bundle up the kids in warm coats and scarves and head to your nearest park to see the fall foliage. Try to collect leaves in as many colors and shapes as you can. When you get home, you can preserve the leaves by pressing them between wax paper with an iron or save them for making fall decorations.

Make DIY fall decorations. Whether you’re decorating your home with spooky pipe-cleaner spiders and construction paper skeletons (or decking out your Springfree Trampoline with festive Thanksgiving hand-traced turkeys), arts and crafts are a great way to bring your family together and get your creative juices flowing. For even more ways to prepare your backyard for fall festivities, here's 8 tips from porch.com.

Warm up with a Springfree Trampoline bounce! It’s a common myth about trampolines that you can only use them in the warm summer months, but we love a good bounce in the crisp October air. Remember to take turns on your Springfree Trampoline and have only one family member on the trampoline at a time. Our revolutionary springless design has eliminated 90% of product-related trampoline injuries, so you can enjoy your bouncing time with peace of mind.

Go apple or pumpkin picking! Look up the nearest pumpkin patch or apple orchard and head out for a day of fun in the fields. You can bring home pumpkins for a pumpkin-carving contest, or save the apples for a healthy snack or baking delicious treats!

Design your own Halloween costumes! Lots of classic costumes, from caped superheroes to tiara-sporting princesses to bedsheet ghosts, can be made with craft cloth, scissors, glue, paint, items from your dress-up closet and other household items. Get the kids excited for a day of creative brainstorming, arts and crafts. They can either make their own costumes, create masks and props, or draw out ideas for costumes. Want to transform your Springfree into a Superhero HQ? Here's how!

Take to the sky for a high-flying photo-shoot. Get dressed up in your favorite fall looks and take turns bouncing one at a time on your Springfree Trampoline. Strike a fierce pose when you’re at the top of your jump and make sure the photographer is standing outside the safety netting when they are taking the picture. Our flexible safety enclosure cushions jumpers and prevents falls to the ground. Bonus points: if your Halloween costumes are safe to bounce in, take pictures of your family dressed up in their Halloween best!

Tie on your aprons and get ready for some pumpkin carving. Have your kids draw their designs on the outside of their pumpkins in pencil. The kids can scoop out the gooey pumpkin insides with a big spoon, but a responsible adult should safely handle cutting the top of the pumpkin off and cutting out the design.

Host a spooky trampoline camp-out. Grab your sleeping bags and pitch a tent on your Springfree Trampoline mat. Bring a flashlight to tell spooky stories after dark, and then settle in for a night of fright! Instead of springs, we use flexible composite rods that lie beneath the trampoline jumping surface out of harm’s way for maximum comfort and safety.

Get out your crock pot and make mulled apple cider! Start by pouring apple cider into the pot, and then pushing cloves into a fresh orange. Submerge the orange and some cinnamon sticks in the crock pot and let it mull for a few hours. Finally, serve hot to warm up your family after a colder outdoor activity.

Go stargazing! Pick a night when the sky is clear and bring blankets out to your Springfree Trampoline. Then just lay back and look up at that stars. The North Star is one of the easier stars to spot from anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere. Look for seven dimmer stars that make up the shape of a small scoop—that’s the Little Dipper! The North Star is the “handle” of the constellation.

Hold a neighborhood food drive! Design posters together or go door to door to offer neighboring families five-minutes of bouncing on your Springfree Trampoline in exchange for every canned food item they donate. The mat and rods from your Springfree Trampoline are made from materials three times stronger than steel and can withstand millions of jump cycles, so feel free to share your trampoline with as many people as you like—as long as they bounce one at a time for safety. Afterward, bring your food donations to your local food bank to help them stock their shelves before the Thanksgiving rush.
