Essential Baby Forum: Do You Agree With The Reply To The Question – Do You Think A Springfree Trampoline Is Worth It?

We spotted this recent post from a “trampoline owner to be” on the Essential Baby Forum and thought that it was a great example of just how passionate Springfree™ Trampoline owners are about their Springfree.

QUESTION:

We are tossing up between the Springfree and the regular run of the mill Big W job.

For those who have a Springfree:

Do you think you have/will get your moneys worth out of it?

Are they as safe as what they proclaim?

Are they easy to install yourself?

ANSWERS:

1: Yes, yes and yes to all!

Very happy and very safe … yes put it up ourselves and probably took an hour or so. I think you can pay extra and have them install it for you.

My DD broke her arm and had to have surgery from falling off one of the normal type tramps. No accidents since we have had the Springfree!

2: Yes Yes and Yes again!!

We won ours and honestly before we had it I would not have spent the money on one when there are the other enclosed style BUT now we have one, there is no way I would consider any other trampoline, if for some reason we needed another, I would not hesitate to purchase a Springfree again.

FANTASTIC and a great place to put crawling bubs while you hang out the laundry LOL

Ours is over 2 years old now and still looks as good as new, still gets jumped on daily and shows no signs of wear and tear.

Can not recommend highly enough.

DO IT you will not regret it one bit.

Oh and they look a hell of a lot nicer too :)

PARENTS WARNED: Hospitals Experience Surge In Child Injuries On Trampolines

PARENTS are being warned about the dangers of children’s trampolines with the UK’s Kingston Hospital recording a surge in the number of youngsters treated for accidents caused by them.

In just five months, doctors at the hospital saw more than 130 trampoline-related injuries including wounds and fractures and several even needed surgery.

The recent research, carried out by consultant and clinical head for emergency medicine Dr Harris and senior staff nurse Marcus Wootton, revealed a fifth of the injuries were in children under five who had been playing on trampolines of more than 10 feet in diameter.

On average, more than two other people were on the trampoline with them, which Dr Harris said was even more dangerous for the lightest child, who would be five to 14 times more likely to be injured. In 68 per cent of cases the injured child did not even fall off the trampoline, the injury caused on the product itself or by collision.

This is due to ‘double bouncing’ – where people jumping at the same time causes the transfer of kinetic energy, catapulting the lightest person in to the air.
But it seems the injuries weren’t all the result of scientific phenomena – a third of accidents were the result of youngsters deliberately jumping from the trampoline or accidentally falling off it.

The doctors have called on retailers to brief parents on safety guidelines when selling the toys, which have grown in popularity over the past few years and are particularly popular in Kingston and Richmond, where homes tend to have bigger gardens.

There are many trampoline designs on the market and one would think safety would be the most important factor when purchasing a trampoline for the kids?

For Springfree™ Trampoline this report is not new or surprising for that matter. Statistics have always demonstrated an unacceptable and scary number of childhood injuries, but what is surprising is that parents continue to purchase unsafe trampolines.

Springfree™ Trampoline has been on a mission since 2003 to reduce injury occurrence – and we’ll keep working hard to make backyards safer. We reckon, parents wouldn’t let their kids ride on a bike without a helmet or ride in a car without a seatbelt – so why let them jump on an unsafe trampoline?

Springfree Trampoline Enclosures Are The Safest In The World

When we talk to new customers about the Springfree™ Trampoline they say, “Ooohh that’s the one with the net around it!” and yes that is correct. But our FlexiNetTM is completely different from the nets on traditional design trampolines, and it’s important to understand why.

Springfree™ Trampoline’s patented FlexiNet™ enclosure has flexible supports to cushion

jumpers and prevent falls. Should a jumper fall sideways, the FlexiNet™ will gently and securely catch them, guiding them back to the centre of the mat. The jumper cannot make contact with the flexi rods meaning no hard impact zones.

Traditional Enclosed Trampolines

A brief description of the nets on traditional trampolines – JUST NOT SAFE.

Don’t get us wrong – we mean this is the nicest way possible but it’s important parents are aware of the potential dangers of trampolines. With over 200,000 children worldwide admitted to hospital each year for trampoline device related injuries, Springfree™ Trampoline is working hard to reduce injury occurrence.

Traditional enclosures on other model trampolines may stop jumpers falling off, but in doing so, either directs them into rigid steel poles or straight down onto the springs and frame.

“TIME OUT” SAYS MUM! – LUCKY CHILDREN THAT MEANS JUMPING ON THE SPRINGFREE™ TRAMPOLINE!!!!

“We have a small back yard and I love that the kids use the Springfree™Trampoline to get rid of excess energy! In fact when my son Jack is being naughty I send him to the Springfree™ Trampoline to jump his sillies out instead of sending him to his room! It diffuses the situation and he’s laughing within minutes. Jack often flings himself about on it and I don’t have to worry that he is going to fall off and hurt himself.”

You Can Play All Sorts Of Ball Games On Your Springfree Trampoline

We all know jumping can keep kids occupied for hours, but a nice way to add a little extra spice is by introducing some balls into the mix! Here is a Springfree™ Trampoline favourite – POISON BALL!!! Why don’t you give it a go at home!

“POISON RED BALLS” Nelson lasted 60 seconds!

“POISON RED BALLS” Nelson lasted 60 seconds!

Poison Ball

What you need:

2 – 6 soft Air balls all different colours (These are cheap as chips and will provide loads of giggles – not to mention the enormous developmental benefits!)

Soft Air filled balls are the best and safest to use!

Soft Air filled balls are the best and safest to use!

Aim:

The aim is to choose a colour that is the evil Poison ball and at all measures avoid touching this ball whilst jumping. Of course the only safe way is one jumper at time so why not record how long you can jump without touching the Poison Ball and then swap with a friend to see who the best poison ball jumper is!

TOO EASY? Put three of the same colour balls in the Springfree™ Trampoline and you have to avoid all three! Good luck…

Stay tuned for loads more exciting ball games. Do you have an even better game that you play on your trampoline? Tell us here by leaving a comment or posting on the Springfree™ Trampoline Facebook fan page so we can all have a go!
